The Moccamaster KBGT 741 Polished Silver is designed for anyone who regularly brews a full pot of filter coffee and then wants to keep it warm independently of the machine. Instead of a glass carafe and hotplate, it uses a stainless steel thermal carafe with a glass insert. This means you can take the carafe directly to the breakfast table, the office, or the patio. Polished Silver particularly emphasizes its functional, professional character.
The KBGT brews approximately 1.25 liters, or ten cups, in around six minutes. During brewing, the water temperature is between 92 and 96 °C. Unlike the KBG Select, it has no special half-pot mode, which is why the KBGT is primarily intended for larger quantities. If you often prepare only a few cups, the KBG Select is more flexible.
According to Moccamaster, the insulated carafe keeps a full pot at approximately 80 °C for up to three hours. Since no hotplate is required, the brewed coffee is not continuously reheated from below. The automatic drip stop interrupts the flow as soon as the carafe is removed. This makes handling clean and allows you to take the carafe with you immediately after brewing.
The KBGT is made in the Netherlands and follows Moccamaster's repairable design concept with spare parts available. This is particularly appealing if you want to use a filter coffee machine for many years rather than just a few seasons. The Polished Silver version pairs perfectly with stainless steel grinders, kettles, and classic kitchen appliances. It is therefore a durable solution for anyone who values large quantities and the convenience of a thermal carafe more than flexible small-batch brewing.
