The Moccamaster KBGT 741 Off White is aimed at filter coffee drinkers who want to brew a full pot and then keep it warm independently of the machine. Instead of a glass carafe and hot plate, it uses an insulated thermal carafe. This allows you to take the coffee to the table, home office, or terrace without having to bring the machine along. Off White gives the technical design a warm, homey character.
The KBGT brews approximately 1.25 liters, or ten cups, in around six minutes. Here too, the brewing temperature is between 92 and 96 °C. Unlike the KBG Select, it does not have a half-pot mode, so the KBGT is mainly suitable if you regularly prepare larger quantities. For frequently brewing small amounts, the KBG Select offers greater flexibility.
The thermal carafe has a glass insert and, according to the manufacturer, keeps a full pot at approximately 80 °C for up to three hours. Since no hot plate is needed, the coffee is not actively heated further after brewing. Once the brewing process is complete, the machine is therefore very energy-efficient. The automatic drip stop also ensures that coffee does not continue running out of the filter when the carafe is removed.
Like the other Moccamaster models, the KBGT is manufactured in the Netherlands and designed for long-term repairability. It is less flexible for small quantities, but significantly better when a large pot needs to remain available for an extended period. For families, home offices, or small meetings, this thermal carafe concept is often more practical in everyday use than a hot plate. In Off White, the KBGT looks particularly friendly and premium despite its functional design.
