The La Marzocco Pico in Black is the most understated version of the compact home espresso grinder and suits nearly any portafilter machine. It is aimed at users who use one regular house bean and want to grind directly into the portafilter as efficiently as possible in the morning. The compact housing requires significantly less space than classic commercial grinders and pairs especially well with the Linea Micra or Linea Mini. Black keeps the setup visually calm and allows wooden handles, stainless steel, or colorful machines to stand out more.
The conical burr set has a diameter of 39 millimeters and operates at approximately 700 to 800 revolutions per minute. For around 18 grams of coffee, La Marzocco states a grinding time of less than ten seconds. The grind size is adjusted directly using the large adjustment ring and can be finely adapted to the bean and recipe. The 300-gram hopper is large enough for everyday use without making the Pico unnecessarily tall or bulky.
For the daily workflow, two programmable doses and a manual grinding mode are available. The magnetic portafilter fork is adjustable and keeps different portafilters stable while grinding. This allows you to use your hands for other steps and prepare several drinks efficiently. Those who regularly use the same bean will have a significantly faster workflow than when weighing each dose individually in advance.
The Pico deliberately does not follow the single-dose principle and is therefore less suited to frequent bean changes. Its strengths lie in convenience, compactness, and its excellent compatibility with La Marzocco home machines. Black is particularly practical if the grinder is intended to match changing machines or kitchen styles over the long term. This makes this version the most versatile Pico for a high-quality yet visually understated espresso setup.
