The Varia AURA Smart Kettle 0.8 L in Black is designed for pour-over fans who want not just hot water, but a controllable brewing temperature and a clean pouring flow. The long gooseneck makes it easier to guide the stream precisely over the coffee bed. Especially with V60, Switch, or other manual brewers, this allows for more even and controlled pouring. The black finish blends particularly discreetly into dark or technical coffee setups.

The temperature control is PID-regulated and can be adjusted in 1°C increments. This allows you to brew different roasts at a suitable water temperature instead of heating the water only to boiling point every time. The 1,200 W heater quickly brings the maximum 0.8 liters of water to the selected temperature. A keep-warm function then maintains the set temperature for up to 90 minutes.

For the actual pour-over, controllable pouring is at least as important as temperature. The integrated Flow Restrictor helps limit the water flow and implement slow, reproducible pouring patterns. This is particularly useful for small coffee quantities, blooming phases, and recipes with multiple pours. This turns the kettle into a genuine extraction tool rather than merely an appliance for heating water.

Boil-dry protection and automatic shutoff when lifted from the base improve everyday safety. Anyone who mainly needs large quantities of tea or boiling water will be better served by a classic large kettle. For filter coffee, however, the AURA shows its strengths precisely where temperature, pouring speed, and repeatability matter.
