The Mazzer Mini G Aluminium High-Gloss combines the classic Mini format with modern grind-by-weight technology. It is aimed at discerning home baristas and small professional setups where the actual coffee quantity matters more than simple timer-based dosing. During grinding, the dose is weighed directly and controlled according to the stored target weight. The high-gloss aluminum surface pairs perfectly with polished portafilter machines and looks considerably more classic than the black version.
Technically, the Mini G uses 64-mm flat burrs made of bearing steel, a 350-watt motor, and around 1,400 revolutions per minute at 50 hertz. Depending on the beans and setting, the grinding speed is approximately 2 to 2.5 grams per second. The integrated scale provides real-time feedback, and Mazzer specifies a dosing accuracy of approximately ±0.1 grams under suitable conditions. A vibration-filtering algorithm helps achieve stable weight readings even when there is movement on the work surface.
Three doses can be programmed via the TFT display, either by weight or time, and a manual mode is also available. Grinding can be started with either the portafilter or the magnetic dosing cup. An adjustable portafilter fork centers the flow of ground coffee, while the anti-static system helps keep the workspace cleaner. After grind-size changes, the grinder automatically adjusts the running time in GBW mode so that the target weight is maintained.
Compared with the standard Mazzer Mini, this eliminates much of the manual reweighing and readjustment. Compared with the Philos, the Mini G remains clearly a hopper grinder and is therefore designed for a fixed house bean and many identical drinks. The 280-gram hopper fits well into high-end home setups without appearing unnecessarily large. Aluminum High-Gloss is the right choice when modern weight-based dosing is to be combined with a classic Italian look.
