The pressure-regulating ECM tamper is designed for home baristas who want to keep the tamping process as consistent as possible. The mechanism limits the tamping pressure to around 20 kg, reducing differences between individual shots or between different people using the setup.

The advantage lies less in tamping as hard as possible and more in repeatability. When grind size, dose, and distribution are correct, a defined tamping pressure helps standardize another variable step in the workflow.

With a 58-mm base, the tamper is intended for compatible 58-mm baskets. Before purchasing, you should still check which inner diameter and tamper size are suitable for the baskets you use.

The ECM tamper is right for you if you prefer clearly defined resistance when tamping and want to make your workflow more reproducible.
