The Profitec TWIST SD54 Yellow combines a precise single-dose workflow with an unusually striking color accent. It is aimed at users who weigh beans by the portion and want to change their coffees regularly. Particularly alongside a yellow Profitec GO 2.0, it creates a deliberately coordinated setup instead of the usual combination of black and stainless steel. Technically, the yellow version remains fully focused on controlled, fresh grinding.
The 54 mm steel burrs run at around 1,400 rpm and are driven by a 235-watt motor. The grind size is adjusted continuously, allowing it to be finely tailored to the espresso in question. After grinding, the Coffee Bellow is pressed several times to move any remaining coffee particles out of the grinding chamber and chute. This helps keep retention as low as possible, especially when a different bean is ground immediately afterward.
The included Dosing Cup has an integrated magnet, allowing it to stand securely in the designated area. After grinding, you can transfer the cup to the portafilter and distribute the coffee grounds more evenly using the integrated leveler. This gives the grinder a continuous workflow from weighing to just before tamping. For home baristas who enjoy working deliberately, it is much more structured than an improvised single-dose conversion of a hopper grinder.
Compared with the TWIST A54, the SD54 does not offer stored hopper portions and therefore requires a little more manual work. In return, you can switch directly between roasts, decaf, or different recipes without having to empty a bean hopper. This flexibility is exactly what makes it appealing to specialty coffee users who do not drink the same beans every day. Yellow is the most expressive version and deliberately makes the grinder part of the design of your coffee corner.
