An espresso that becomes part of your daily ritual
Abitudine means “habit” in Italian. That is exactly what this PINO espresso stands for: the morning cup, the short break in between, and the coffee that naturally belongs to your day. The blend of 70% Arabica and 30% Robusta combines a rounded base with body and structure. Italian espresso tradition meets a conscious focus on the origin of the beans.
Three origins, one harmonious blend
The Natural from Brazil’s Cerrado Mineiro forms the soft foundation. The Catuaí beans grow in Minas Gerais at around 935 meters. Added to this is washed Arabica from La Colmena in Huila, Colombia: Caturra and Catuaí from Pitalito, grown at 1,500 to 1,600 meters. This component brings liveliness to the blend without overpowering its balance.
The third component comes from Rwanda: washed Nganda Canephora from Imigongo, grown at elevations between 900 and 1,200 meters. It gives the espresso its dependable body. Each origin serves its own purpose; together they create a coffee that feels rounded while retaining definition.
For espresso and your milk drinks
Abitudine is primarily intended for espresso. If you are looking for a blend with noticeable structure, it is a fitting choice for your daily portafilter routine. It is also worth trying as a base for cappuccino or flat white: the Robusta component adds body when combined with milk. On the bag, Pino describes the profile as dark chocolate, roasted almond, and brown sugar. These notes are sensory impressions, not added ingredients. The focus is on roundness, balance, and a consistent cup profile.
Our starting point for preparation
As a flexible starting point, you can use around 18 g of coffee in a suitable double basket and extract around 36 g of espresso. Taste is what matters: if the cup tastes too sharp, adjust the grind size and yield gradually; if it tastes dry or bitter, first shorten the yield. This is a starting point for your setup, not a binding recipe from the roastery. You can also discover the blend in a moka pot, using a coarser grind than for a portafilter.
Pino and BaristaYOU: What connects us is coffee
PINO Roastery is run by Giuseppe Grossi - Pino, the founder and roaster of his own roastery in Barbing near Regensburg. He combines Italian coffee culture with curiosity about distinctive green coffees and careful roasting in small batches. The aim is for the roast to reveal the character of the bean: its sweetness, structure, and the interplay of its aromas.
At BaristaYOU and Pino, we are united by our enthusiasm for good coffee. For us, the right machine also calls for a bean you look forward to every day. Pino devotes himself to the craft of roasting, while we help you discover the coffee with your setup. That is why you can find his coffees with us: with traceable origins, their own character, and a personal connection to the person behind the roastery.
Whole beans, enjoyed mindfully
You receive whole roasted coffee beans. If possible, grind them immediately before preparation and adjust the grind size to your method: fine for the portafilter, somewhat coarser for the moka pot, and suitable for the filter and brewing time for pour-over. Store the bag tightly sealed, in a dry place protected from heat and direct light. You can find the roast date and best-before date on the respective packaging.
Pino roasts in small batches. At BaristaYOU, you order from our managed stock; we therefore cannot promise an individual roast made only after your order. If you need help with grind size or a recipe, we will be happy to help you adjust it to your machine and grinder.
