With the Rocket Mozzafiato FAST, the most important decision isn’t black or stainless steel, but V or R. Both versions use the same dual-boiler concept and Rocket’s FAST platform. The main differences concern the pump, water supply, and therefore the daily workflow.
V FAST: flexible with the tank
The Mozzafiato V FAST uses a vibration pump and operates with the water tank. This is straightforward if you don’t want a permanent installation or may want to move the machine later.
R FAST: rotary pump and plumb-in option
The Mozzafiato R FAST combines a rotary pump with a tank or water connection. The pump runs more quietly, and a permanently installed coffee station can be integrated more conveniently.
Don’t judge espresso quality by the pump name
A rotary pump does not automatically make better espresso. Grind size, temperature, dose, brew ratio, and puck preparation remain decisive. You mainly buy the R version for its feel, noise level, and installation options.
Which one would we choose?
V FAST for flexible kitchens without plans for a plumbed water connection. R FAST if the machine will stay in one place, quieter pump operation is important, or a plumb-in connection is planned for later. We explain the basic FAST concept in Rocket FAST explained.
