Profitec TWIST A54 Matte Black

The Profitec TWIST A54 is a compact hopper grinder for home baristas who want a fast espresso workflow with programmable doses. It forgoes large commercial dimensions and therefore also fits next to narrower portafilter machines. The beans remain in the 250-gram hopper and are ground directly into the portafilter in place. This is particularly convenient for a fixed house bean in everyday use and significantly faster than weighing out individual doses in advance.

The grinder uses 54-mm steel burrs and a 235-watt motor. The grind size can be adjusted steplessly, allowing you to make small corrections to flow time and extraction. The height-adjustable portafilter rest enables hands-free grinding. This means you can already take care of other steps, such as preparing milk or getting the tamper ready, while grinding.

Profitec offers three programmable dose amounts: Single Shot, Double Shot, and Single Dose. Select, Barista, and Single-Dose modes are also available, allowing the operating process to be adapted to different routines. This makes the A54 more versatile than a very simple timer-only grinder. Nevertheless, it is fundamentally a hopper grinder and is not specialized for minimal retention when changing beans frequently.

Compared with the Pro T64, the TWIST A54 is more compact and uses smaller burrs. Compared with the TWIST SD54, it offers the more convenient standard workflow because the bean supply and programmed doses are directly available. It is particularly well suited to home baristas who prepare several drinks with the same bean in the morning. The matte-black housing with its branded front panel also harmonizes especially well with current Profitec machines.
