The Eureka Mignon Specialità 16CR Chrome combines the familiar Specialità workflow with a much more classic, glossy appearance. It is designed for home baristas who primarily use one fixed espresso bean and want to grind directly into the portafilter. Two programmable doses make the daily routine quick and straightforward. Chrome pairs especially well with polished E61 machines and high-quality stainless-steel setups.
Technically, the grinder uses 55 mm flat burrs made of hardened steel and consumes 310 watts of power. Eureka specifies an espresso grinding speed of approximately 1.8 to 2.5 grams per second. The stepless micrometric adjustment provides enough precision to deliberately compensate for small changes in extraction time or bean age. The grind size remains mechanically and directly adjustable, without digital presets.
The touchscreen offers two programmable doses as well as a manual mode. The portafilter can trigger the grinding process via a microswitch, so you do not have to keep both hands on the grinder. Silent Technology reduces operating noise, while ACE works against clumping and static buildup. For a classic espresso hopper workflow, this is a very balanced combination of convenience and control.
Compared with more modern grind-by-weight models, the Specialità lacks automatic weight control. As a result, the actual dose may shift slightly after changes to the beans or grind size and should be checked when necessary. In return, the operation remains deliberately simple, and the grinder is priced in a different class from large GBW systems. The Chrome version is therefore ideal for anyone who wants to combine proven technology with a particularly high-quality, traditional appearance.
